Lisa graduated in June of 1990 as valedictorian of Northeastern University's Boston-Bouvé College of Human Development Professions (BBCHDP) with a bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She went on to be mentored by leaders in the physical therapy communities of Boston and Los Angeles. Lisa taught in the Physical Therapy master's degree program at Mount St. Mary's College in Brentwood, California for three years. Lisa was awarded her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) Certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) in 2002 and was recertified in 2012.

Lisa also proudly served on the medical staff of the World Gymnastics Championships in Anaheim, California in 2003. She has continued to hone her skills, attending numerous continuing education courses taught by masters of the physical therapy profession including: Shirley A. Sahrmann, PT, PhD, FAPTA; Paul Hodges, PhD, PPhty(Hons); Vladimir Janda; Peter I. Edgelow, MA, PT; David Butler, GDAMT; Jim Meadows, BSc, PT, COMP. Included amongst this coursework was a year-long manual therapy course taught by Joe Godges, PT, OCS, who is the ICF Practice Guidelines Coordinator for the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Lisa enjoys running in her free time and has completed 17 marathons. She was a member of the NCAA Division 1 Northeastern University Women's Varsity Gymnastics Team from 1985-89 as a scholarship athlete, and she has instructed girls' gymnastics 1983-present.
